Tourist Spots

To the south of our town is the Sierra de Picachos, a protected natural area of 1.405 square kilometers mountain with beautiful scenery and invaluable ecological importance, since it is a fate of migrant fauna and a variety of unique flora and fauna in the region.
It is located geographically between parallel 25°50'55" and 26°19'22" north latitude and between the meridians 99°42'57"and 100°06'40" W and its area is divided among the municipalities of Agualeguas, Cerralvo, Dr. Gonzalez, Higueras, Marin, Sabinas Hidalgo and Salinas Victoria, all of the state of Nuevo Leon.
It is a place with a radiant beauty with a diversity of ecosystems and that goes from 400 to 1,200 meters above sea level altitude, ranging from submontane scrub in the lower and middle to pine-oak vegetation in the higher altitude and to the west, there is a portion of desert scrub vegetation type and thorny Tamaulipas between 600 and 800 meters above sea level.
The site is very appreciated by hikers who enjoy camping and long walks in the forest and mountains, as it offers several peaks that require certain skills to be conquered.
